Drunk, who did not recognize police guidelines, tasered in The Hague

Law enforcement in The Hague have started out an inside investigation to build if officers accurately used a taser on an unarmed gentleman on the Grote Markt final weekend, community broadcaster Omroep West documented on Tuesday.

The man was tasered 4 of five times by police officers when he did not fall to his knees, as they purchased. Eyewitnesses reported the person, who was overseas, did not appear to understand what the officers have been saying, even although they spoke in English.

The police have been accredited to use tasers in cases where a truncheon or pepper spray are not powerful but the weapon roll-out is however beneath way.

A police spokesman claimed law enforcement experienced responded to a report that a man had threatened an individual with a knife on a close by avenue. The responding officers noticed the taser sufferer on the Grote Markt. ‘He was drunk and the officers believed he had a knife with him,’ a spokeswoman explained. ‘He did not comply with guidance and was tasered.’

It later on transpired the person did not have a knife. He was fined for being drunk in public and released.

Police are now examining internally to see if the tasers were being utilised in accordance with the policies, Omroep West explained.
